This successful long-term project has contributed to the Government of Thailand's 15-year Alternative Energy Development Plan (AEDP 2008-2022) promoting renewable energy.

The project utilises photovoltaic renewable energy generation technology, supplying it to the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). No renewable energy power plant was operating before the implementation of the project activity in the area. Thus it has bought employment to people onsite (at the solar power farm) and offsite (technology suppliers/manufacturers).
Prachinburi Solar Farm is registered under the Clean Development Mechanism and I-REC, producing an average of 1,000 MWh per year. The total GHG emission reduction over the last 10 years’ crediting period is 61,056 tCO2e.
